JKUAT 2025 Intake: 6,800 Freshmen to Join in September via KUCCPS placement

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is set to welcome over 6,800 first-year students this August 2025, marking another significant intake for one of Kenya’s leading technological institutions. The upcoming cohort is part of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) placement for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The new students, drawn from all 47 counties, are expected to report to the university’s Juja Main Campus and its satellite campuses for orientation and registration as early as August 26, 2025.


 KUCCPS 2025: How JKUAT Compares

According to KUCCPS placement data, JKUAT ranks among the top five public universities in terms of student placement this year. While universities like Kenyatta University and the University of Nairobi continue to attract high numbers, JKUAT’s 6,850 placements reflect a sustained interest in STEM-related programs and practical learning pathways.

In 2024, JKUAT admitted 6,510 government-sponsored students. This year’s increase is a testament to the university's improved visibility, growing academic reputation, and vibrant student experience.


 Important Dates and the Admission Process

All first-years are expected to report as early as August 25th, 2025, depending on their respective schools. The is to be followed by orientation week , during which students will be introduced to university systems, clubs, student leadership, and campus culture.
