The September – December 2026 Semester officially kicked off on Tuesday, 1st September 2026. The Office of the Registrar (Academic Affairs), led by Dr. Aggrey Wanyama, has issued an internal memo (Ref: JKU/2/66/033) reminding all students to complete their mandatory Session Reporting and Unit Registration in a timely manner to ensure a smooth semester.
To ensure you don’t run into last-minute portal locks or examination issues, here is a complete step-by-step breakdown of what you need to do before the deadline on 28th September 2026.
1. Self-Session Reporting into the ERP System
All continuing students are required to self-report on the university ERP portal.
Step-by-Step Reporting Process:
-
Visit the student portal at portal.jkuat.ac.ke.
-
Log in using your student credentials.
-
Navigate to the Admission menu and select Reporting.
-
Click the Report button to confirm your active attendance for the current semester.
Key Things to Keep in Mind:
-
First-Year Students: You do not need to self-report. First-year students have already been automatically reported into the ERP system.
-
System Semester Names: Do not be confused if the system semester name (e.g., SEMESTER 2 2025/2026) appears differently from your actual academic level. The system label reflects internal database tracking and does not necessarily imply your exact year or level of study.
-
Cohort/Status Errors: If you encounter errors related to cohort planning or student status during reporting, visit or contact your School Administrators for quick assistance.
2. Unit Registration & Fee Policy Compliance
Unit registration must be completed within the first four (4) weeks of the semester.
Fee Payment Requirements:
-
Self-Sponsored Students: Full registration requires compliance with the JKUAT Fee Policy by clearing 100% of the semester fee.
-
Government-Sponsored Students: You are required to pay ONLY your household portion to proceed with unit registration.
Strict Deadline Notice
All students must complete both Session Reporting and Unit Registration by Close of Business on 28th September 2026.
Failure to comply within the given timeframe may lead to portal lockout, inability to sit for CATs/Examinations, or automatic deferment of the semester.
